For 60 years, Grand Banks has been the symbol of a luxury lifestyle on the water. GB85, the latest model in the range, honours its heritage, but also embraces modern design, materials and technology to offer the best characteristics and performance in its category. We saw it during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022.

With a semi-displacement hull inspired by oceanic racing yachts, the GB85 has an unbeatable combination of speed, comfort and efficiency. The GB85 is more than just the biggest Grand Banks. Thanks to the hydrodynamics of the V-Warp technology, owned by the shipyard, the Grand banks 85 uses half the amount of fuel compared to other 85-footers because it only needs half the power to reach the same speed and performance.

Its interior and services are everything one would expect from this stalwart of luxury and elegance. It is 26.58 metres long with a beam of 7 metres, offering a wide range of layouts. Hull number 1 has three large cabins and separate crew quarters, which can also be used for children or additional guests.

The new Grand Banks 85 – explains Mark Richards, CEO of the shipyard – is an incredibly versatile platform, with incomparable quality and performance. It embodies our desire to build the best yachts on the water today and, with the attention we pay to fuel efficiency and sustainability, I think that this will define what is expected from yachting in the years to come.”

Guided in large part – notes Richards – by my racing experience, from the America’s Cup to the Sydney To Hobart, and the skills and passion of our team, we worked very hard to guarantee that construction techniques, design and choice of materials are the best.”

Grand Banks offers different layouts , including a version with an open or closed flybridge. The shipyard follows the work together with their clients in order to guarantee that each GB85 reflects the needs, experience and specific tastes of each client.

The stern has a large dining table, with an open-air galley along the room’s bulkheads. The hall has an ample conversation space aft with a U-shaped sofa alongside another straight one. To the bow is a dining table and a spacious galley equipped with professional-grade appliances.
