It often happens that the pleasure boating industry finds itself working hand in hand with the equally luxurious fashion industry. This has been the case for the Admiral brand and Giorgio Armani, who partnered together to showcase Italian excellence.

In celebration of this partnership, in the evening of 11 February, an exclusive event was held in Marina di Carrara in the headquarters of The Italian Sea Group, a worldwide operator in luxury boating, and owner of Admiral. Over 650 guests including owners, brokers, shareholders, experts, VIPs and journalists, were welcomed for the presentation of the new Admiral 72 megayacht designed by Giorgio Armani, who spoke during the event.

HOW THE PROJECT BEGAN

The importance of this evening was highlighted by the words of Giovanni Costantino, founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group, who shared some of the most significant moments in the company’s story and how the partnership with the famous fashion designer began. The idea was sparked in 2019 by Costantino while he was in Milan standing in front of an Armani window display. From that moment, they began talking.

After an exciting meeting – said Costantino – Giorgio Armani grabbed a book, a pencil, and sketched out the first yacht he was to design for The Italian Sea Group.” This is a 72 metre yacht, to be delivered at the beginning of 2024, shortly followed by another model.

The Italian Sea Group is thereby confirming its position side by side with the main Italian luxury brands. In addition to fashion, the company has also partnered with the automobile industry, in particular with Lamborghini, for the construction of the motoryacht, “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63.”

THE PRESENTATION

A laser mapping show revealed the layout of the megayacht, followed by a runway show of the spring/summer 2023 ladies and menswear collection by Armani, and concluded with the stylist’s traditional salute. An elegant display, curated by Giorgio Armani, framed the private dinner by Chef Cerea, a 3-Michelin-starred chef, representing the “Da Vittorio” restaurant. Guests were also able to enjoy a performance by cover band, Inspiration.
