CMC Marine: the electric revolution starts here – interview with the president, Alessandro Cappiello
- 17 April 2024
With the recent nomination of Raffaele Invrea as Managing Director and Andrea Cavaliere as Operations Manager, CMC Marine is implementing their strategy to break into the American market over the next few months. After participating in the Seattle Boat Show, the Italian company, a \world leader in electric stabilisation systems, will continue touring the United States, taking part in the Miami International Boat Show (until 18 February), and the Stuart Trawlerfest (from 27 February to 2 March), with the aim of perfecting and diversifying the brand’s offers and further expand throughout the United States.
CMC Marine USA, founded in 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, is getting ready for a period of great change. The American division of the company will play a central role in the 10-million-euro three-year growth plan recently announced by Alessandro Cappiello, CEO for CMC Marine, based on three key points: product, manufacturing capacity, and services.
With a turnover that has more than doubled over the last three years, CMC Marine’s strategy includes restructuring internal procedures in the United States and their relationships with American distributors, expanding to Central and South America and Asia.
“The United States – explains the new Managing Director, Raffaele Invrea – is a huge market, with a nearly infinite and varied user base. Having a capillary presence over the territory, thanks to a network of distributors and dealers across the country, is fundamental for the brand’s growth. The US is a mandatory stepping stone to access other active markets such as Brazil and Central and South America, as well as Canada and the Asian Pacific countries.”
After the excellent results from the Seattle Boat Show, the biggest boat show on the West Coast, CMC Marine USA will take part in the Miami International Boat Show (14 to 18 February) and, lastly, the Stuart Trawlerfest, from 27 February to 2 March.
On display at both American shows will be models of the Waveless STAB, the company’s range of compact electric stabilisers, currently for use on vessels over 12 metres, and which will soon expand with a new size, the STAB50, with a 1.8 square metre blade. Miami will also be showcasing a model of the Stabilis Electra, the anchor stabilising system for yachts over 18 metres.
