We saw the megayacht Madsummer docked in the port of Genova, at the Magazzini del Cotone. With its 95 metres in length, it is one of the biggest and most luxurious yachts in the world.

As one would expect, the chartering cost, which in summer is in the Mediterranean and in winter in the Caribbean, isn’t for just anyone. One week on board the Madsummer, be it summer or winter, costs one million 600 euros, plus expenses.

Madsummer was built in 2019 by the German shipyard Lurssen. The elegant and refined interiors of the megayacht were created by Laura Sessa Romboli, while its charming profile was designed by Harrison Eidsgaard. Up to 12 passengers can enjoy the night on board in 10 comfortable cabins. It can also transport up to 28 crew members.

Inside it is splendidly decorated and the common areas feel like they should be in a luxury hotel, creating a warm and familiar atmosphere in this timeless yacht. Obviously, there are excesses which, for a super yacht of this kind are considered normal.

On board Madsummer is a 12 metre pool, a giant spa, a beach club equipped for diving, a gym, cinema, children’s play area and a heliport on the bow.

The hull is in steel and the superstructure is in aluminium. Its cruising speed is around 12 knots, and its maximum speed is 17 knots. Thanks to its 300 thousand litre fuel tanks, its autonomy is over 6 thousand miles.
