Created through the revolutionary vision of Paolo Vitelli, founder and president of Azimut Benetti Group, and the creative genius of the architect Stefano Righini, the Benetti B.Yond 37M, “Goga” has four decks, and expresses the style of the modern owner, representing the best of the new Voyage series.

By replacing fibreglass, Benetti made an unprecedented choice for vessels of this size: a return to steel. A jump back into the past when, in the 1950s, it was Benetti that moved from building in wood to metal. For a number of markets, steel is the symbol of durability and sturdiness, the qualities of a Voyager, built for lengthy navigation.

We went on board the Benetti B.Yond 37M during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, visiting the greenest pleasure yacht in its category.

The innovative E-Mode Hybrid system by Siemens Energy allows for efficient energy consumption on board in function of specific user profiles, ensuring reduced CO2 and NOx emissions which have never before been registered in a yacht in this category.

B.Yond 37M navigates by combining SCR catalytic filters, gas control technology fed by a urea-based liquid solution already in use in the automotive industry for Diesel Euro 6 engines, with the innovative E-Mode Hybrid system by Siemens Energy, based on “crew friendly” integrated Add-On architecture, modelled on a traditional system, for extremely simple management, moving from mechanical propulsion to electric and vice versa, without the need for specialised staff on board.

An innovative solution that gives the option of travelling in 4 different ways, including Full Electric, for zero emission navigation; an exclusive addition which allows the B.Yond 37M to access protected marine areas or other areas in which motorboats are prohibited. The lithium battery pack also allows the boat to drop anchor in Hotel Mode, also with zero emissions, keeping the generators switched off and supplying the main utilities on board  through battery power.

With the new generation of high density batteries, using a 300 kw/h battery pack will provide autonomy at anchor of up to 8 hours during the day and 12 at night. Battery re-charging time is only 3 hours. Estimating a yearly use of 1,000 hours, of which 400 are in navigation and the remainder at anchor, there is a reduction in CO2 of up to 24% and a reduction in NOx of up to 85%.

Righini’s revolutionary concept, which is the sum of all his creative knowledge, includes the addition of a fourth deck, raising all the noble areas of the vessel, thereby offering a beautiful panoramic view.

The knowledgeable layout, with the options of a 50 metre, 500 GT yacht, optimised into only 37 metres, creates a harmonious separation in functions: the Lower Deck is reserved for the crew, who have large spaces in the operative and services sections, 4 cabins, the captain’s suite and an additional cabin. The service area also includes its own walk-in wine cellar and a cold room, uncommon in a vessel of this size.

The Main Deck is the night area for passengers, with four top luxury suites accessed through the panoramic living area with its generously-sized windows, which Benetti has dubbed the “Playroom”, and an open air relaxation room. Going on to the Upper Deck, the living area, free from impediments, opens over a 360-degree view of the water, from prow to stern, and which can also be admired in the sun deck and Jacuzzi.

The Bridge Deck above, has the owner’s suite with a spacious bathroom, a dressing room, a refined studio office space with a desk and private balcony to the stern complete with sun loungers and a room with a view of the water. While to the bow in the Wheelhouse is the helm with surveillance room reserved for the captain during longer voyages.

The Sun Deck has a dining area with pantry and outdoor table, sheltered under a hard top, as well as a sun lounge area. The large garage can store 2 jet skis, a 6.5m tender for the owner and a rescue boat. In contact with the water, further aft, the beach area has a large sun lounge area and, inside, a wellbeing area with sauna, steam room and toy room with gym equipment by Technogym.

The white steel hull with aluminium superstructure best expresses the personality and elegance of the B.Yond 37M, complete with white varnished stainless steel handrails, also varnished white and finished with a teak band: a unique style detail. Studio P.L.A.N.A. By Pierluigi Ausonio designed the hull.
