Italy participates in the Barcelona Boat Show: registrations in Spain increase by 13%

The Barcelona Boat Show will be held at Port Vell until 17 October. Among the 200 exhibitors is also a group of Italians representing the country’s excellence

Great national and international brands, industry professionals and boating enthusiasts will fill Port Vell until 17 October, participating in the Barcelona Boat Show, with this edition dedicated to sustainability, relaunching business and trade show events, after having to stop due to Covid.

With the tagline “The sea is waiting for you”, the event, organised by Fiera de Barcelona in partnership with Asociación Nacional de Empresas Naúticas (ANEN), brings together more than 180 exhibitors and 500 boats, 176 of which are in the water. An iteration which, adapting to current restrictions, confirms its status as the main event in Spain.

In order to contribute to relaunching the industry, promoting sales and business to business meetings, in addition to networking, Moll de la Fusta and Moll de España will be home to some of the best models of brands including Azimut Yachts, Bali Catamarans, Bavaria, Beneteau, De Antonio Yachts, Filippetti Yachts, Fjord, Fountaine Pajot, Hanse, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Pardo Yachts, Rodman, Sasga Yachts, Torqeedo, Touron and Yamaha. Accessory manufactures present at the Spanish event are also Garmin and Furuno.

There is also a good number of Italian companies at the Barcelona Boat Show. In addition to Azimut Yachts, other Italian exhibitors are Pardo Yachts, Fiart Mare, Joker Boat, North Sails and the storage solutions (with hoists and modular sheds) of the company from Puglia, Naval Tecno Sud.

After a summer in which boating tourism has once again demonstrated its attraction to our coasts – explains Per Luis Conde, chairman for the Barcelona Boat Show – it is time to promote an industry with great opportunities for the city of Barcelona and the entire country, to support it in its aim of achieving sustainable sailing respecting the marine environment.

During the boat show in Catalonia the various brands will present hundreds of new products, including boats, engines and accessories, the strong points of which are technological development, new materials and new sources of energy, like electricity, to focus on ecologically transitioning the industry.

The Spanish boating market – notes Carlos Sanlorenzo, general secretary for Asociación Nacional de Empresas Naúticas Anen – has exceeded the turnover from 2019, with the registration of pleasure boats increasing by 13% at the end of September. Europe’s autumn boat shows, with the Barcelona Boat Show being one of the important events, are demonstrating the stamina of the industry. Indeed, in the last two years, the boating industry has been very present in the travel plans of many people, who have been looking for safe places that are also close to nature.

This event is the largest floating display in Spain. Even on lad a number of small vessels and dinghies are on display, in addition to the latest in electronics, engines, paints, sail boats, tug boats, charters and boating services.
