Oceanco announces the delivery of DreAMBoat, a custom superyacht designed by Espen Øino and built in record time

3 minutes of reading

Oceanco have announced the delivery of DreAMBoat, previously known as Project Y726, a 111-metre superyacht that stands out as one of the fastest and most significant projects in the yard’s history, beyond big, given its 4550 GT gross tonnage. This is the second yacht with this name built by Oceanco for the same owner.

Luxury design and comfort

DreAMBoat stems from the owner’s desire to have a space to enjoy quality time with friends and family. The exterior was curated by Espen Øino International, while the interior was curated by Mark Berryman Design, with naval architecture by Lateral Naval Architects.

The mega yacht has extended accommodation in order to accommodate up to 28 passengers and 34 crew members. On board there is no lack of extra services: an aft entertainment area with pool and Jacuzzi, a winter garden, covered cocktail bar, outdoor and indoor cinemas, golf simulator on the sun deck (specifically requested by the owner), a gym, spa with sauna and Turkish bath, and a beach club lounge directly overlooking a platform into the water.

My relationship with Oceanco began very well and with DreAMBoat it became even stronger,” said the owner, underscoring the importance of the partnership. “They listened to me – he added – and I felt they were truly interested in my personal vision. There is something profoundly gratifying in seeing your ideas come to like, especially with a partner like this.

DreAMBoat built by Oceanco in just 4 years

What makes Oceanco’s DreAMBoat stand out is also the incredibly efficient construction process. From early talks in November 2021 to delivery in the same month in 2025, the entire project was completed in record time – only 4 years. This was 18 months less than the average time it would take to build a custom vessel of this size.

This result was achieved because of the perfect working relationship between Oceanco and the designers, as well as the proactive owner, who made critical decision-making a quick process. “Full transparency and a trusting relationship – notes Edske Smit, project director for Oceanco – were essential in achieving the shortest lead time possible, allowing the team to make critical decisions early while all remaining aligned with the objective from the beginning.

Sustainable innovation through the LCA

The construction of the DreAMBoat was also an opportunity to showcase the progress of sustainability in the pleasure yachting sector. In partnership with Royal Haskoning, Oceanco developed an innovative tool for the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the yacht, which can measure the yacht’s entire carbon footprint from construction to function, to help guide the team in making important technical decisions. Like installing a battery pack optimised for “peak shaving” and reducing operating emissions, or using sustainable interior finishes by Nature Squared, a brand that recycles natural waste material like egg and coconut shells.

The LCA approach used for this project is now part of the shipyard’s standard processes, so as to guarantee transparency on the environmental impact of each design choice. With diesel propulsion, a maximum speed of 21 knots and a cruising speed of 15, DreAMBoat is the summation of design and engineering, as well as a benchmark for building efficiency and environmental responsibility in the megayacht segment.
