Rodman is venturing into this motorboat segment for the first time with this new model, aiming to bring the sea to a greater number of people. This is the fourth model in this new range and the shipyard’s most important innovation. The new Rodman 790 Ventura SD is a balanced option for enjoying sailing and onboard comfort. More than just a day cruiser, with a center console and bow and stern spaces for optimal comfort, it offers the possibility of spending a few days on board with good interior roominess.
The Ventura range began with a new series of outboard boats ranging in length from 6 to 8 meters in different deck versions: open with a center console, open with a closed bow and in cabin versions with a Hard Top. With the introduction of this new model, it has consolidated its portfolio with four new models introduced in the last two seasons in different versions and configurations.
Deck and Cockpit
The shipyard’s comfort solutions and experience in building recreational boats designed to offer habitability, functionality and safety are immediately apparent as soon as we board the bathing platform on the port side, protected by a high handrail. This provides a good foothold both for walking and for swimming.
The versatility of the cockpit is evident in the aft seat, which moves longitudinally to maximize space, either in its normal position or with the option of transforming into a sundeck. The functionality and modularity of this deck is completed by the option, as in the model we tested in Barcelona, of a pilot and copilot seat module with a folding backrest and space for a refrigerator and kitchen. Two rotating individual seats are offered as standard.
To access the bow, raised walkways have been designed on both sides to maximize interior volume. Moving around the deck is comfortable and safe thanks to a reasonable walkway width, side handrails, a sturdy perimeter grab bar on the steering console and separate handrails on both sides at the height of the sun loungers. This space can be equipped with reclining backrests. The rounded bow, with its open bow, facilitates both anchoring maneuvers and passage for boarding and disembarking.
