iSpace2o, an innovative Italian start-up, has announced it is beginning production on the first vessel in its futuristic hydrofoil/submersible range, the DeepSeaker DS1. The turning point came thanks to funding from Invitalia, and an industrial partnership with Sealence by William Gobbo, which will supply the electric jet powertrain, DeepSpeed, the studio, Giancarlo Zema Design Group, who will curate the definitive style, and Blaze Performance, the Formula 1 H2O team who will build the hull and will fine tune the vehicle.

The DeepSeaker DS1 paves the way for a new category of vessels which can, not only speed across the water at over 30 knots, but also dive under it to admire the beauty of the underwater world. Part of the water toys range for super yachts, this incredible vessel has the potential for a much wider market range: from underwater tourist exploration in some of the most spectacular marine areas of the world, to “immersion” visits in some of the world’s largest aquariums.

The technology – notes Giuseppe Carusi, engineer and CEO of iSpace2o start-up – is now ready around the world for this kind of vessel, which is beginning to be more widespread. iSpace2o, also thanks to its industry partners, has the skills to position itself at the apex of this market thanks to extremely high technology and a singular design, elements that cannot always be found in competitor products.”

The first 10 models of the DeepSeaker DS1 have already been optioned by one of the biggest international navigation groups, who will use them to entertain their cruise ship passengers. iSpace2o will become another Italian business that has the aim of changing the way we enjoy the water, guaranteeing maximum safety for the passengers on board and at the same time respecting the surrounding environment thanks to its electric propulsion.
