In the last few years, Sunreef Yachts has been working on the front lines of eco-innovation. It is fitting, therefore, that this year, at the Monaco Yacht Show, the Polish shipyard brought one of the most advanced catamarans in green technology.

We are talking about the Sunreef 80 Eco, an eco-responsible luxury vessel that combines electric propulsion with head-spinning performance. Like a second “skin” covering the vessel, the solar panels cover a total surface area of 164 square metres and can be placed in any part of the vessel, even on the mast and boom.

In the absence of sun, the catamaran can maintain a speed of 10 knots for up to 8 hours thanks to a 475 kW battery pack. These, in line with the rest of Sunreef’s technology, are 30% lighter compared to other commonly used nautical batteries and have a density inferior to 5.2 kg/kWh, for improved weight and performance efficiency. Naturally there is also a diesel reserve generator group made up of two 80kW generators.

THE INTERIORS OF THE SUNREEF ECO 80

Moving on to the interior design, the Sunreef Eco 80, has an aggressive yet elegant profile. The dark surfaces give a luxurious and ultra modern vibe to the vessel. Thanks to these tones, the main deck is the best place to relax with company. Looking at the interior, there is the owner’s suite, with a changing room, desk and large sofa and the other four cabins with double beds.

A luxury vessel that can also be completely customised. The Sunreef 80 Eco catamaran offers an infinite number of decoration possibilities and access to a wide selection of the latest and, above all, most environmentally sustainable, materials.

A NEW HYDROGEN CATAMARAN IS ON ITS WAY

During the Monaco Yacht Show, the founder and president of Sunreef, Francis Lapp, announced they were working on a new design for an 80-foot sailing catamaran which will combine hydrogen power with electric propulsion, to reach “unrivalled autonomy for a new level of environmentally conscious cruising.
