The coin ceremony for a new full custom 40 metre superyacht took place recently at the Cantieri di Pisa shipyard. The ceremony, whose origin goes back to Ancient Roman times, celebrated the beginning of the vessel’s construction and included the participation of the French owner, the shipyard’s management team and the workforce involved in bringing this project to life.

Curated by the Custom Division of the company, the superyacht will have four decks, a gross tonnage under 500 GT, and will have a slender external design, echoing some of the shipyard’s iconic models, like the black and white grids over the air ducts, the black strip along the hull and handrails that become an element of the design.  The engineering was developed by Francesco Samarelli from Studio Sa.Ma.Re Design, with the support of Antonio Luxardo, Chief Designer for Cantieri di Pisa, and his studio, Optima Design.

The hull will be built in steel with superstructure in aluminium and advanced composite using vacuum technology, a mark of Cantieri di Pisa leading to a lighter vessels and lower centre of gravity, providing more efficient propulsion and reducing fuel consumption. The yacht will be equipped with two Man V12, 1550 horsepower engines, allowing the yacht to reach maximum speeds of 15 knots and an autonomy of up to 2000 nautical miles at cruising speed.

An original layout

With an original layout for a yacht of this size, the Cantieri di Pisa Custom 40 will be perfect for charter, and will be adapted for oceans at any latitude, and the latest in entertainment. It will have 6 passenger cabins, including a refined owner’s cabin with private terrace on the forward main deck, and 4 guest and one VIP cabin on the lower deck; there will also be 6 cabins for the crew, four on the lower deck and two on the bridge deck (for the captain and first officer).

On all decks, relaxation areas will be decorated using loose furniture, sun lounges, sofas and day beds. The aft cockpit has a spacious Jacuzzi and at midships is a large garage with a lateral launch system for tenders up to 6.6 metres long, numerous toys and jet ski. In addition, there is an equipped kitchen, dedicated fridge and freezer area, various pantries, plenty of space for storage, and a large capacity laundry room, making this 40-metre yacht perfect for comfortable long term stays on board.
