During the Monaco Yacht Show, on board the Grande Trideck by Azimut, Liviana Forza and Giancarlo Perlini talked to Daily Nautica about the evolution of transparent solutions for superyachts, including innovation, sustainability and working with industry leaders
On the deck of the Azimut Grande Trideck, during the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, Daily Nautica met with Liviana Forza, CEO of Isoclima, and Giancarlo Perini, Chief Business Development, Marketing and Sustainability Officer for the company, for an exclusive interview. The result is an interesting voyage through the heart of transparent innovation which has revolutionised the super yacht industry.
Innovation as business culture
Right from the beginning of the interview, Liviana Forza wanted to make one thing clear: “Innovation is in Isoclima’s DNA.” This affirmation goes beyond a simple slogan, it is the summary of over 50 years of history, research and challenges.
“From the 1990s we introduced – explains Forza – an extraordinary innovation: frameless structural windows, made using highly advanced chemical tempering technology. Now we can manufacture windows over 5 metres long, installed without vertical joints and this is a paradigm shift for naval design.” This evolution has led to Isoclima working with shipyards around the world, Italian and foreign, developing increasingly ambitious bespoke solutions.
Going beyond possible limits
Giancarlo Perlini explains their strategic vision, defining the group as “the global leader in high performance transparent solutions.” “Our approach – explains Perlini – is not just technical, but is also an experience. We have brought our Vision Plus technology to Monaco; this allows us to harmonise the tones of the glass with that of the hull, expanding creative possibilities for designers.”
But it is not just a question of aesthetics because isoclima’s innovation also respond to engineering and functional needs like thermal comfort, lightness, safety and sustainability.
Behind every window is a challenge
With over 1000 employees and the biggest chemical tempering facility in the world, isoclima works on windows up to 10 metres, highlighting their industrial skill, which works seamlessly with an artisan mentality.
“The challenges – notes Forza – begin with the design, they continue through prototyping, engineering audits, and then through to manufacturing. Each project is complex, but this is where Isoclima gives its very best.” This skill in adapting also translates into multidiscipline. Indeed, the company also works in sectors like aerospace, safety and helicopters, transfering skills that are unique to boating.
Concrete sustainability
The future of boating also includes sustainability. “We are bringing to the market – notes Giancarlo Perlini – solutions that guarantee immediate benefits in terms of sustainability, like our Secure Solar Shield, winner of a Blue Wake award: a reflective glass that reduces solar rays by 50% thereby reducing the yachts energy consumption.” Solutions that combine efficiency, comfort and fewer emissions, responding to the expectations of clients that prefer authenticity and focus on environmental impact.
Isoclima is not just a supplier, but a catalyst for innovation for the entire industry. From partnering with leading shipyards to being active participants in the ISO group for certified solutions, the company plays a key role in defining standards. “We work together with designers, shipyards and regulators – notes Forza – to ensure that our solutions are beautiful, high performance and always certified according to the highest safety standards.”
The Azimut Grande Trideck: the perfect setting
The interview took place on the Grande Trideck, the Azimut flagship, a physical manifestation of the “Barefoot Luxury” concept. Here, Isoclima’s transparent solutions integrate elegantly with the vision of m2atellier, increasing natural light and visual continuity between the interior and exterior. Each detail, like the iconic Unveiling Wall or overlapped geometry that play with the light, share a new way of yacht living: personal
And in the future? Increasingly transparent.
With a continuous innovation roadmap, Isoclima is looking forward is is ready to overcome new limits. “We are working – concludes Forza – on lighter and higher performing materials. Our clients want transparency, safety, but also a drastic reduction in weight. Research on composites and structural interlayers is fundamental for remaining on top.”
“Monaco – adds Perlini – is a showcase, yes, but also a laboratory. Here we stimulate change, we sit stakeholders around a table and accelerate technological development. Our objective remains the same: to innovate responsibly.”
