The Blue Design Summit concluded a few days ago, dedicated to boat design and that of everything overlooking the sea. With 90 speakers in 16 panels and round tables, it was, without a doubt an important opportunity for networking among industry professionals.

Daily Nautica, media partners for the event, interviewed Filippo Rossi, sales manager for Floating Life, who moderated one of the panels at the summit entitles”Shapes on water” Four stories of entrepreneurs who, as shared by Rossi “even though they come from other sectors, they decided to invest and develop businesses which are all tied to beauty, elegance and a connection with the water.

Floating Life has recently been part of a new adventure: can you share it with us?

Two months ago, we became agents for Switzerland, Italy and France for Sunreef Yachts, a world leader in the manufacture of large sailing and motor catamarans. Recently, during the Dubai Boat Show, the shipyard recently presented the first model of their new series. We were there to shake hands, not virtually, but physically, on an agreement that excites us, gives us new challenges in knowledge and expansion”.

How is the boating market going?

Floating Life provides services. As our core business is yacht management, but also working in charter, brokerage and new builds, so a series of services surrounding the boating market, it is difficult for us to experience a true decline. There is a contraction in sales, the data are clear, but in what regards us, we have a consistent flow which makes us optimistic for the future. Also because boats are objects of extreme beauty, and that beauty need to be maintained. So, services are therefore necessry to preserve the quality of the vessels.”
