Jean-François Guitard, Aviation and Business Development manager for Sky Valet, talks to Daily Nautica about industry trends and the environmental challenges of the future

During the World Yachting Summit in Monaco, Daily Nautica interviewed Jean-François Guitard, general manager for Aviation & Business Development for Sky Valet, one of the main European operators of airport services dedicated to business aviation. Sky Valet manages strategic airports like Cannes and Saint-Tropez providing premium services for private jets and high profile clients. Having overcome the post-pandemic period, the company is currently in second place in the European industry rankings and growth prospects are very encouraging.

MARKET TRENDS

Our company – says Jean-François Guitard to DN – provides management services for airports like Cannes and Saint-Tropez. After the pandemic, businesses began working again and, as a consequence, there was also an increse in air traffic. From 2022, growth stabilised, but we are still growing. At the moment, we are the second top company in Europe for airport services.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES

There are two important challenges – notes Jean-François Guitard – regarding sustainability. The first is airport infrastructure: we have not yet reached carbon neutrality, but we have reduced emissions by around 90%. The second is the aircraft. These are certainly a source of pollution and for this reason we are trying to adopt new technology and new energy sources to drastically reduce emissions. Over the next five years, we might even have electric aircraft.
