During the Venice Boat Show, Luigi Gambelli spoke to DN, explaining the objectives of the Timone Yachts group

Timone Yachts Group, dealer for the Azimut Benetti Group since 1992, participated once again this year in the Venice Boat Show, presenting a selection of yachts that represent the best of Italy’s quality and spirit. The group, led by Luigi Gambelli, showcased the Fly 53, Fly 68 and Magellano 66 at the Arsenale in Venice, attracting a number of curious visitors.

Daily Nautica, media partner for the Venice Boat Show, interviewed the president, Gambelli, about these vessels and take stock of the objectives of Timone Yachts. Already present in the upper Adriatic, the group is now expanding to the other side of the sea, creating new opportunities in Croatia and Slovenia, and, above all, in Albania, which is going through a substantial economic boom at the moment.

VESSELS PRESENT AT THE SHOW

Timone Yachts brought three models from the Azimut-Benetti group to the Venice Boat Show: the  Fly 53,  Fly 68 and the Magellano 66. These are vessels that stand out for style, performance and technical characteristics, all created for the international market and to guarantee the most comfort possible, without forgetting entertainment.

These three vessels – explains Luigi Gambelli to DN – have very singular characteristics for their market segment. The Fly 53 is a new aspect for and entry level vessel in the Fly range, and is perfect for our Adriatic coasts, and especially those of Croatia. We also have a 68, which has IPS propulsion. This is a very elegant vessel, both inside and out. Lastly, we have a Magellano 66, which, in this case, has lineshaft transmission because we wanted to preserve the traditional spirit of the trawler.”

THE EAST ADRIATIC MARKET

Over the past few months, Timone Yachts have further cemented their presence in the eastern Adriatic, opening a new office at the Orikum Marina in Albania. This strategic choice is part of a larger plan to expand into the emerging market of eastern Europe, where the demand for pleasure boats is increasing.

We opened this market in Albania – notes the president of Timone Yachts – and it is a market that appears to be very receptive, even though it is still developing. Indeed, in this area, infrastructure is growing, like ports and marina, which up until now have been lacking. This will lead to further developing pleasure yachting and will allow us to expand our areas of interest.”
