In the evocative setting of Venice, the 20th edition of the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards has taken place Among the winning vessels was the Mangusta Oceano 39 which won the award for the “Displacement Motor Yachts – 499GT and below, 35 to 39.9m” category.

The Mangusta Oceano 39’s win is not only a testament to its aesthetics and performance, but also the passion, expertise and vision that have always been a part of the Mangusta brand identity. An even more significant result, as this award has been received during the shipyards’ 40th anniversary celebrations.

Mangusta Oceano 39

Built at the Viareggio facility, the Mangusta Oceano 39 is the entry level vessel for this long-standing range. This second unit of the series premièred during the last Cannes Yachting Festival. With a length of 39.2 metres a width of 8.5 metres and a gross tonnage of 324 GT, this model is built with a composite hull and carbon fibre and composite superstructure. It has two MTU 12V 2000 M86 1700HP diesel allowing the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots, and a cruising speed of 12, with an autonomy of 2,250 nautical miles. The Mangusta Oceano 39 can accommodate up to 12 passengers in 5 cabins and has quarters for 7 crew members, guaranteeing maximum comfort on board.

Design: a harmonious union of exterior and interior

The design was created through a partnership between the Technical Department of the shipyard and designer Alberto Mancini, who designed the exterior. The Mangusta 39 stands out for its innovative shape and generous spaces, with a minimalist aesthetic and large windows creating continuous contact between the interior and exterior, providing an immersive and relaxing navigation experience. Among its distinctive characteristics are the full height windows that can be opened on the main decks and the continuity between the refined materials used and styles for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

The upper deck with its glassed in saloon and lounge area, feels like a modern patio overlooking the water. The forward area has an infinity pool with a partially glassed-in bottom, filling the owner’s suite below with natural light. Completing the layout are the 85m2 flybridge, completely surrounded by windows and a versatile beach area with collapsible lateral terraces.

The award

The Overmarine Group – notes the jury – have done an extraordinary job in moving from fast to displacement vessels.” The construction quality, the layout, spaces, and prestige of the Mangusta Oceano 39 have been determining factors in our choosing this yacht for a palm tree award, The jury also remarked on the harmonious style of the interior, with uniformity in choice of materials, like teak, used for the interior deckheads and exterior decks. In addition, the ample use of full height windows in the superstructure fills the interior with natural light and opens the yacht to the outside through some of the windows which can be opened.
