The “King Benji” was only launched a few months ago by Turkish shipyard Dunya Yachts, but it has already become an icon of luxury and extravagance. The owner of this incredible 47-metre yacht seems to have wanted a yacht ready for any kind of adventure with friends and family. From this need came the unusual shape of the “King Benji”, with an elongated aft platform and a wider and extended main deck. During the MYBA Charter Show 2024, the Daily Nautica team went on board this yacht, accompanied by the captain Grant Du Perez.

THE SOUL OF AN EXPLORER

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the “King Benji” has plenty of space on board for a vessel of this size, and is more stable at anchor thanks to its displacement hull. In addition, its characteristics allow it to go on long cruises. With two Caterpillar 895kW engines, it cruises comfortably at 12 knots, can reach a maximum speed of 14 knots with great autonomy thanks to its 69,000-litre tank.

THE INTERIOR OF THE KING BENJI

The interior design, by British studio Design Unlimited, is modern and welcoming, with ample open space providing a further sense of comfort. Upon entering the main saloon is an elegant lounge area surrounded by large full-height windows. Continuing on is a large dining area and even further is the staircase leading to the other decks.

The lower deck is dedicated to passenger accommodation: four cabins designed and furnished by Design Unlimited in a unique style with a marine theme. Instead, the owner’s cabin is on the aft upper deck, with a nearly 360-degree view.

SELECTION OF WATER TOYS

Fun can certainly be found onboard the King Benji, with an ample selection of water toys including a jet ski, water skis, two seabobs, a wakeboard, diving equipment, kneeboards, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. King Benji also has two tenders, including a 12m Nortech.
