The marine weather conditions of the next few days

The first sailings of yachts will generally be smooth at Easter and Easter Monday on the Ligurian Sea

The yachting and pleasure craft season in the Mediterranean restarts with the Easter period. We wanted to take a look at the marine weather conditions expected on our seas. Marine weather conditions during the long Easter weekend will be characterized by the typical spring variability, with a Mediterranean divided in two parts.

The continuous flow of cold air from the Balkans towards the Adriatic Sea will trigger the deepening of a vast and lasting low pressure area over the Ionian Sea and Greece, while a vast anticyclonic area will temporarily expand over the Western Mediterranean.

The first sailings of yachts will generally be smooth at Easter and Easter Monday on the Ligurian Sea, Balearics, Provence, W Corsica and W Sardinia. On the other hand, strong N’ly winds are expected over the Adriatic basins and on the central-southern Tyrrhenian Sea with rougher seas and instability.

A new change of the atmospheric circulation is expected on Tuesday 11th with the passage of a weather front over Alps followed by the picking up of a Mistral storm spreading from the Gulf of Lion towards Corsica and Sardinia.
