The damage can be repaired and there were no injuries. All in all the outcome of the accident which took place in the Golfo di Marinella, in northern Sardinia, damaging a Mochi 44 yacht, which crashed against the rocks while navigating along the Emerald Coast.

At the helm of the 13 metre vessel was its owner, an Italian who has been coming to Golfo di Marinella for many years, which is where he has a permanent space at the marina as well as a house. This is certainly not a pleasure boater who does not know these waters. It is for this reason that the accident has been attributed to the captain’s distraction. Perhaps a manoeuvring error that pushed the boat against the rocks, which is also where a number of villas are located, as can be seen in some of the images circulating among chats online.

A tugboat was called to the scene from Porto Rotondo, helping stem any oil leaks into the sea. The vessel was lifted using floats from the rocks and was towed to Olbia, where it is currently under repair in a shipyard. The damage to the hull does not appear to be serious and luckily nobody was injured.
