Launching from Benetti’s Livorno shipyard, the M/Y “Joy”, the second unit of the Oasis 40M model, is an innovative 40-metre yacht in fibreglass created to offer a dynamic and informal life on board, with the aim of keeping constant contact with the water.

The owner, a first time Benetti client, closely followed the design and construction, asking for some bespoke changes, and is very happy with the results obtained by the shipyard, which, thanks to its high building standards, demonstrated yet again the excellence of Italian quality.

The exterior of the Oasis 40M, by the well-known RWD studio, represents the perfect combination between Italian refinement and classic English lines. The vertical bow, the full length windows of the wheelhouse and the automotive inspired style (like the silver paint around the perimeter of the windows) give the yacht a lively aspect, while at the stern, the large spaces dedicated to the outdoors reveal their glamorous soul.

The most innovative element is the beach area, a terrace with no physical and visual barriers, conceived as a multi-functional environment in contact with the water. An area that is perfect to be enjoyed both by day, as a central hub for life on board, and by night, as an elegant living area, or even as an outdoor cinema (depending on owner requirements). Also equipped with a 7 m² infinity pool, thanks to the two collapsible sides, this space can reach 11 meters in width, thereby obtaining 90 m² of usable space.

To the sides, three steps lead to the main living room, which can be accessed through a large sliding door, guaranteeing continuity between the inside and outside. The beach area has no stairs leading to the upper decks, which can only by accessed through the lateral catwalks or from the inside, while the garage is located to the side, on the right, so as to not interfere with this area.

The interior, curated by the well-known New York studio, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, are informally comfortable and resembles an elegant, open space loft, also thanks to the large windows and glass doors that contribute to removing the barriers between the inside and outside.

“Joy” was designed with 4 decks, 5 cabins for 10 passengers and 4 cabins for 7 crew members (including the captain’s cabin). On the main deck is the large living area, with two lateral windows and three doors, near the dining area. To the left, a door hides access to the galley, where the crew go to reach their cabin in the bow on the Lower Deck, and the upper decks, in this case using a separate route, to protect the owner’s privacy.

On the right side of the main living area, towards the stern, the master suite can be accessed, preceded by a refined private studio, custom made with polarised windows (smart glass). Also on the client’s request, the suite has been equipped, on the right-hand side, with a comfortable and welcoming terrace, while a central corridor leads to the dressing area and bathroom, both divided into two separate areas (for him and her).

The Upper Deck is home to the futuristic wheelhouse, the bridge of which is a multifunctional space for fully enjoying the sailing experience thanks to the comfortable seats for 6 people and full height windows allowing for a 180° view. On the same deck, the personalised Sky Lounge includes a fully equipped gym, with fully opening windows, as well as a lounge area with a sofa and TV. Lastly, the Sun Deck, which can be reached through a central staircase, has a bar and sunbathing area, while on the Lower Deck are the 4 double cabins with en suites reserved for guests.

Among the many characteristics that make this splendid super yacht stand out is also an advanced remote Wi-Fi system, allowing the boat to dock from the stern without anyone necessarily being in the wheelhouse, and the addition of external sound speakers, highlighting the idea of an on board lifestyle focused on conviviality, a perfect fit for this vessel.

The hull, made in partnership with P.L.A.N.A. Studio by Pierluigi Ausonio, with its vertical bow, allows the vessel to reach a maximum speed of 18 knots. “Joy” was built following the highest technical and construction standards on the market and the attention to every detail and aspect of its construction can be seen in the attention placed on the air quality, in terms of oxygenation, humidity and temperature inside the enclosed areas, where an air treatment system (ATU) always guarantees a fresh and healthy environment, changing the air up to 6 times an hour.
